About the speaker
Dr. OluToyin Akande-Ajala is a UK-trained Consultant Geriatrician, Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London (FRCP), and a pioneer in geriatric care across Sub-Saharan Africa.
With over 30 years of NHS experience in the UK, she returned to Nigeria to transform healthcare for older adults, founding JBS Medicare Services, the JBS Elderly Care Foundation Africa, and JBS Gerontology Centre in Lekki, Lagos—Nigeria’s first private specialist hospital for the elderly and home to its first Dementia Day Activities Unit.
A Visiting Consultant at UCH Ibadan and Convener of The Healthier Aging Conference, Dr. Akande-Ajala is a recognized advocate for healthy aging who has traveled to all seven continents and over 84 countries.
